Direct Cremation in East Sussex

Beachy Head in East Sussex

Funeral costs are on the rise, and with many families no longer requiring large, extravagant services, many are turning to direct cremation. Direct cremation offers a low cost alternative to more traditional funerals by separating the cremation from the funeral service, with direct cremation with us costing just £895, with no upfront fees or hidden payments. Direct cremation in East Sussex is rising in popularity, and now accounts for 1 in every 14 funerals in the UK. By separating the cremation from the funeral itself, families are then able to plan their own memorials and celebrations of their loved one’s life at a later date, and at a price point that works for them. The scattering of the ashes is often incorporated into these services.

If direct cremation sounds like the right choice for you and your family, please call a member of the team on 0800 133 7961.

What is direct cremation in East Sussex?

Direct cremation is when the cremation is separated from the funeral service. This means they take place at different times, with no mourners in attendance at the cremation. As such, it is also known as unattended cremation. By separating the cremation from the service, there is no need to hire out a venue, or pay for the expense of cars, flowers, or catering services at the same time. This means that direct cremation is far more affordable than traditional funeral services. At DirectCremation.co.uk, the standard price of a direct cremation is just £895, the lowest price in England and Wales. The average funeral in the UK has risen to a staggering £4,800, meaning a direct cremation with Harbour will save you and your family £3,905.

Take the first step

Answer a few questions and we'll give you an exact price with no strings attached. Alternatively you can also call our team directly on 0800 133 7961 for advice.

What is included in the price?

For £895, We will collect your loved one from any hospital or mortuary in England or Wales and transport them to our regional crematorium. There they will be provided with an eco-friendly wooden coffin, and taken care of until the cremation takes place. We will ensure that you are aware of the date and time of the cremation, before it takes place. Following the cremation, the ashes can be scattered, free of charge, in the crematorium’s Garden of Remembrance. Alternatively, the ashes can be placed into a sustainably-sourced, British-made wooden urn, finished with an engraved nameplate and hand-delivered to your family at their convenience, for the additional cost of £91.

Can I arrange to attend a service?

Unfortunately, we do not offer services alongside the cremation, as the cremation takes place privately at our crematorium. Instead, many families choose to plan their own memorial services at a later date, with the scattering of the ashes often being incorporated into these occasions.

Should you wish for the cremation itself to be attached to the service, we recommend our partner company, Willow Lake. Willow Lake offers funeral services for the affordable price of £1995. For more information about Willow Lake, please call 0800 464 7277, they can also be reached via email at [email protected]
